প্রয়াত হলেন প্রণব মুখোপাধ্যায়। গত কয়েকদিন কোমাচ্ছন্ন থাকার পর অবশেষে লড়াই শেষ। সোমবার সকাল থেকেই শারীরিক অবস্থার অবনতি হতে শুরু করে। মৃত্যুকালে তাঁর বয়স হয়েছিল ৮৪ বছর।

Press Club, Kolkata, deeply mourns the passing away of the former President of India, Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee. The Club was honoured to have him as one of its most eminent Hony. Life Members.
A renowned statesman, Pranab Mukherjee rose to the highest position of the country from a very modest beginning in a rural background. He held several prestigious positions in his long and cherished political career.
He had a very close relation with Press Club, Kolkata and visited the Club on several occasions. He inaugurated the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Club in 1995. His last official programme in Kolkata as President of India was to grace the Bicentenary Celebration of Bengali Journalism organised by the Club at Rabindra Sadan on 30 June 2017. Later, he also visited the Club as the former President.
With his demise the country lost a renowned statesman, a versatile personality, a troubleshooter of the highest calibre and a matured politician, who was respected by all, cutting across party affiliations. He was definitely one in the contemporary era, who made the presence of Bengal felt in the national and international arena.
Press Club, Kolkata, joins the entire contry in paying tribute to its special Hony. Life Member, Pranab Mukherjee and conveys its deep condolences to the bereaved family.
