Sir/Madam, With due respect, I would like to inform you that as you are aware, on 1 September 2025, the Supreme Court of India, in a judgment, ordered the re-qualification test for working primary (i-viii) teachers to be given TET. As a result, at least 50 lakh teachers and their families across the country have lost their dignity and have become uncertain about their sources of income. It is worth mentioning that 2 teachers have committed suicide due to this verdict, and if anyone commits suicide again, who will take responsibility? The Honorable Justices should have observed carefully while giving the verdict in this case that this verdict will ruin the respect of primary teachers of the entire country and the foundation of primary education of the entire country will be shaken, which is not desirable. Without adequate allocation to the education sector like in developed countries, our country is being pushed towards privatization of education by refraining from infrastructure development, teacher recruitment, etc. (PPP), which seems to be a long term attempt and state conspiracy to take away the constitutional fundamental rights of children. This verdict of the Supreme Court will help in implementing the state conspiracy of massive layoff of teachers and privatization of education across the country.

Should the law be applicable to any case that occurred before or long before the date of enactment of the law? Can cases under the IPC Act be tried under the BNSS Act before the BNSS Act comes into force? Will doctors selected under the system before the introduction of NEET have to prove themselves as qualified doctors again through NEET?

Before the introduction of the TET exam, where there was a qualifying exam for the recruitment of teachers, they came to the teaching profession after proving their qualifications through that exam. So why do teachers have to take the qualifying exam again now? In other professions, does anyone have to take the qualifying exam again after entering that profession? Teachers were not recruited. through the collegium system or on any recommendation, teachers became teachers by proving their qualifications through the rules set by the government and their jobs were confirmed after the probation period. If teachers have to take the qualifying exam again, then what is the point of giving confirmation? At present, even though one country, one recruitment system has been introduced, why has one salary structure not been introduced? The salary structure of teachers in different states is different, which has created salary disparity. What is the view of the central government and the Supreme Court on eliminating salary disparity? What is the view of the central government and the Supreme Court on the lack of a system for professional promotion of teachers in all states?

Therefore, Sir/Madam, let this verdict be amended through a review petition and the honor and profession of teachers should be protected. Or, a bill should be brought in Parliament to amend the NCTE Act and exempt teachers from paying TET and make arrangements to protect their honor and profession.

Thank you-
