সাংবাদিক আক্রমণ, নিন্দা এসএডব্লিউএম-এর

রোজদিন ডেস্ক : মুর্শিদাবাদের বেলডাঙ্গায় মহিলা সাংবাদিক ও তাঁর ক্যামেরাম্যানকে আক্রমণের তীব্র নিন্দা করলেন সাউথ এশিয়ান উওমেন ইন মিডিয়া (এস এ ডব্লিউ এম)। তাঁরা সাংবাদিক সোমা মাইতি ও তাঁর ক্যামেরাম্যান রঞ্জিত মাহাতোকে আক্রমণের ঘটনায় স্তম্ভিত, বিশেষত পুলিশের সামনে এই ঘটনার তাঁরা তীব্র নিন্দা করেন।

South Asian Women in Media (SAWM) India strongly condemns the attack on senior woman journalist Shoma Maiti of Zee 24 Ghanta and her cameraperson at Beldanga in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district today while she was on assignment to cover ongoing protests.

Such an assault on a woman journalist is shocking, especially as it took place in the presence of police personnel on duty at the spot.

SAWM India condemns the incident and demands immediate arrest of those responsible.

The media must be allowed to work freely and fearlessly. An attack on it is an attack on democracy.

এই ঘটনায় দোষীদের অবিলম্বে গ্রেফতারের দাবি করেন। সাংবাদিকদের অবাধে কাজ করার দাবি করেন। একে তাঁরা গণতন্ত্রে আঘাত বলে মনে করেন।
